Detailed Narrative
Q1 FY27 Performance Overview and Adaptation
Aurionpro Solutions reported Q1 FY27 revenue of ₹358 crores, marking a 6.3% year-on-year growth, with an EBITDA of ₹61 crores at a 17% margin and PAT of ₹45 crores. While Q1 performance was below the desired growth and profitability trajectory, management highlighted the organization's ability to adapt. The company achieved a record 23 new customer logos in Q1, including its largest ever US order and a significant transaction banking mandate, indicating strong demand despite execution challenges.
Strategic Pivot and Market Expansion
The company has strategically refocused its efforts on businesses with accelerated growth potential, particularly in data center and transit, and expanded its banking segment into new geographies like Southeast Asia and Europe. This pivot is already showing traction, with wins expected in these new markets this year. Management believes this rebalancing of the business will yield results in the coming quarters⏳, reducing dependence on previously challenging regions.
AI-Native Product Development and Margin Impact
Aurionpro is heavily investing in building an AI-native banking portfolio, including products like AurionAI, Arya.AI, and Lexi labs. A significant portion of capacity is currently diverted to these product build-outs, which are expensed as R&D, temporarily impacting EBITDA margins. Management expects these build-outs to mature, shifting capacity towards implementation and accelerating revenue conversion for the banking business, with margins expected to strengthen in the longer run due to operating leverage.
Data Center Business Outlook
The data center business is at an inflection point, with growth expected to accelerate significantly, moving above the recent 40-50% trajectory to potentially 50-100% growth. This segment, while having margins 4-5 points below the enterprise average, is capital-light and offers high return on capital, with volume expected to compensate for lower margins. Data center is projected to increase its share of the TIG business from roughly one-third to about 40% by year-end FY27.
Order Book Conversion and Execution Challenges
Despite a strong order book and the busiest pipeline ever, conversion to revenue has been below the normal trajectory. This is attributed to longer conversion cycles for large deals (typically 12-18 months, but longer for current large data center projects) and the need for capacity build-up to execute against these massive projects. Management is hyper-focused on accelerating order book conversion in Q2, Q3, and Q4, with normalization expected by the end of Q2 or early Q3.
Middle East Geopolitical Impact
The geopolitical situation in the Middle East continues to cause slowness in deal closures, impacting revenue contribution which dropped from a double-digit percentage to zero last year. While deals are progressing better than Q4, management cannot predict when the situation will fully normalize. However, they expect the year-on-year impact from the Middle East to be negligible after Q3 FY27.
Cash Conversion Focus and Capital Allocation Strategy
Aurionpro is placing an extreme focus on cash conversion (order book to revenue, and revenue to cash/EBITDA to cash) for FY27. To support this, the company plans no significant acquisitions in the near future, which will free up cash previously used for M&A. H1 Operating Cash Flow (OCF) is typically negative due to payment cycles, and while a similar trend is expected this H1, management aims to be in good shape and accelerate OCF in H2 through focused execution.
