    Q&A highlights

    6

The organic growth of over 8% was surprisingly strong given previous quarters. What were the key drivers beyond new products and was management surprised?

Q2 was weaker than anticipated due to timing issues, contributing 1-2% of Q3's growth. Data centers were a significant factor, adding 4% to Americas and Asia growth. The overall environment for Brady's products was strong.

Q2 was definitely a little weaker than we had anticipated. And there were some timing issues of some small contracts. The net result was that a little bit of our growth, not to diminish it, but a little of our growth fill in, I'm going to say maybe 1% or 2% was fill in from what we thought was a slightly weaker Q2 than we expected.

    Detailed Narrative

    01

    Strong Organic Growth Drivers

Brady reported 8.2% organic sales growth, with Americas and Asia growing 10.1% and Europe and Australia growing 4.5%. This growth was attributed to strong performance in key product lines, particularly Wire ID, which saw significant uplift from data center demand. The company also noted that printer unit sales were up nearly 8% year-over-year, indicating future consumable revenue growth.

    02

    Profitability and Efficiency Gains

Gross profit margin expanded to 51.8% from 51% in the prior year, benefiting from cost reduction actions taken last year, including manufacturing facility closures in Beijing and Buffalo. Adjusted SG&A as a percentage of sales decreased by 120 basis points to 25.3%, reflecting efficiencies and targeted investments in the sales force. These factors contributed to a 23% increase in adjusted EPS.

    03

    Strategic Investment in R&D

The company increased its R&D investment by 23% to $23.5 million, representing 5.4% of sales. This multi-year investment is paying off with new product introductions like the I-4311 portable printer, which is selling well above expectations and creating a 'halo effect' for other products. This focus on innovation is seen as a key driver for organic sales growth.

    04

    Honeywell PSS Acquisition Rationale

The acquisition of Honeywell's Productivity Solutions and Services (PSS) business is a significant strategic move, expected to more than double Brady's addressable market. It expands Brady's portfolio into mobility and scanning solutions, complementing its existing durable labels, printers, and software. The acquisition is driven by emerging marking and identification standards and new applications for RFID-based product identification, pointing to a long runway for future growth.

    05

    PSS Business Performance and Integration

The PSS business experienced a slight sales decline of just under 2% in calendar year 2025 but grew nearly 5% in Q1 calendar year 2026. Brady expects the acquisition to be immediately accretive, adding approximately $0.80 of adjusted EPS in the first year post-close, without including synergies. Management plans to preserve PSS' global reseller network and enterprise customer relationships, while accelerating investment in R&D and software offerings.

    06

    Data Center Market Opportunity

Data centers are a meaningful growth driver, particularly for Wire ID products, representing 20% of Americas and Asia revenue and growing 19% in the quarter. While the physical building of data centers faces capacity limits, Brady views this as a positive, ensuring a sustained tailwind for several years. Brady's products are utilized throughout the data center construction and upgrade cycle, from groundbreaking to block upgrades every 3-4 years.

    07

Capital Allocation and Balance Sheet Strength

Brady's strong cash generation, with operating cash flow up nearly 35% year-to-date, has resulted in a net cash position of $148.6 million. This financial strength enables the company to finance the PSS acquisition with $1.3 billion in debt, targeting a net leverage ratio of 2.5x at close and deleveraging to below 2x within two years. The company remains committed to its 40th consecutive annual dividend increase and opportunistic share buybacks.
