Detailed Narrative
Q1 FY27 Financial Performance Highlights
Netweb Technologies delivered a record quarter in Q1 FY27, with revenue from operations reaching ₹8,197 million, marking a strong year-on-year growth of 172.1%. Profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹853 million, growing 179.9% year-on-year, with a PAT margin of 10.3%. Operating EBITDA for the quarter was ₹1,205 million, a 169% YoY growth, resulting in an operating EBITDA margin of 14.7%.
AI Segment as Key Growth Driver
The AI segment continues to be the primary growth engine, contributing ₹5,105.70 million, which represents 62% of the total revenue from operations. This segment demonstrated exceptional growth of 484% year-on-year. The company's other core segments, HPC and Private Cloud, also maintained robust traction, contributing ₹1,252.94 million and ₹1,353.46 million respectively.
Order Book and Business Visibility
As of June 30, 2026, Netweb's order book stood at ₹25,069.35 million, complemented by an L1 position of ₹8,480.47 million and a pipeline of ₹10,401 million. This combined visibility provides a strong foundation for medium-term growth. Management indicated that approximately 40-45% of the order book is from the AI segment, with the remaining from HPC and Private Cloud. The execution timeline for orders has been updated to 16-20 weeks, from the earlier 8-12 weeks.
Working Capital and Capital Allocation Strategy
The company's cash conversion cycle was 96 days as of June 30, 2026, with receivable days improving to 78 days. However, inventory days increased from 86 days in March to 110 days in June, primarily due to strategic raw material buildup to secure inputs for surging AI compute infrastructure demand. Net debt stood at ₹1,999 million. Management acknowledged the need for capital to support growth and is considering various options (debt, equity, or a combination) but has not firmed out a specific trajectory.
R&D and Future Opportunities
Netweb is investing in R&D across several areas, including low footprint architecture, advanced interconnects, and direct cooling technologies for HPC. In AI systems, innovation spans from dense AI compute to GPU orchestration and sovereign AI appliances. The company is also exploring emerging opportunities in physical AI and quantum computing, with a dedicated R&D team of around 125 people. Management follows a conservative accounting policy of expensing R&D rather than capitalizing it, citing the rapid evolution of technology.
Competitive Landscape and Market Position
The company emphasized its competitive advantage stemming from its end-to-end design, manufacturing, and deployment capabilities, particularly in high-end computing solutions. Netweb believes it is well-positioned to address the growing demand for AI infrastructure, especially with the India AI Mission and the increasing focus on indigenous solutions. Management stated they have pricing power and direct technology relationships, enabling them to manage component price fluctuations and maintain margins.
