What Alkem Lab does
Alkem Laboratories is one of India's top-five pharmaceutical companies, operating across the value chain in branded generics, complex generics, biosimilars, APIs and nutraceuticals, with leadership positions in therapy areas such as anti-infectives, gastrointestinal, pain management and vitamins/minerals/nutrients. It earns primarily by manufacturing and selling formulations to doctors, hospitals, stockists and pharmacies in India (through a large field force) and via international subsidiaries such as Ascend Labs in the US, Australia, Latin America and Europe. Biosimilars are developed and manufactured through its subsidiary Enzene Biosciences, and in FY2025 the company entered the medical-devices business through Alkem MedTech, acquiring an orthopaedic-implants manufacturing facility and licensing premium implant technology.
