What F A C T does

The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) is a Government of India public sector undertaking headquartered in Kochi, Kerala, that manufactures nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilisers and industrial chemicals. It runs two production complexes — the Udyogamandal Complex and the Cochin Division at Ambalamedu — making the branded complex fertiliser Factamfos, ammonium sulphate, and caprolactam (a petrochemical intermediate), along with sulphuric acid and phosphoric acid as process inputs. It earns mainly by selling fertilisers to farmers through a dealer network spanning South, West and East India, while caprolactam and other chemicals are sold to industrial customers; it also holds a building-products joint venture with RCF.
