What Petro Carbon does
Petro Carbon and Chemicals Limited (PCCL) manufactures and markets Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC), produced by calcining Raw Petroleum Coke, which is sold mainly as anode-grade raw material to aluminium smelters (about 70% of use) and to steel, carbon-chemical and titanium-oxide users (the remaining ~30%). The single manufacturing plant sits inside the Haldia port perimeter with its own railway siding, giving it direct logistics access for importing RPC and dispatching CPC. Sales are direct to marquee customers such as NALCO and Hindalco rather than through agents, and the company commissioned a captive 10 MW WHRB power plant in FY25 to cut power costs. It has also incorporated two wholly-owned subsidiaries (ACL Alchemy and ACL Advanced Materials) to move into coke-oven and petroleum/chemical products, and entered a 50% partnership for carbon-product manufacturing as part of backward integration.
