Warren Tea Ltd. was originally a tea plantation company but has disposed off and exited the tea plantation business entirely, and is not engaged in any manufacturing activity. It currently earns income mainly from interest on inter-corporate deposits, bank term deposits and mutual funds, along with some rent income. The company has been preparing to venture into new areas of tea business — retail/consumer tea marketing in selected northern Indian districts (Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab) and merchant exporting of teas to Gulf/CIS/Eastern European countries — but these plans have been put on hold and no exports took place during the year.
