Detailed narrative
Emrosi Commercial Inflection and Prescriber Dynamics
Emrosi generated $8.1 million in net sales during Q2 FY26, supported by 36,000 total prescriptions, reflecting 20% sequential growth over Q1. Monthly new prescriptions reached an all-time high of over 5,300 in June (climbing above 4,700 monthly averages in earlier months) and reached ~14,000 total prescriptions in July.
Unique prescribers expanded to over 4,500, up from 3,700 at the end of Q1 and 3,200 at year-end 2025. Management noted that head-to-head Phase 3 data showing skin-clearing efficacy at 8 weeks exceeding 16-week Oracea outcomes without minocycline-related tolerability issues is sustaining prescriber loyalty.
Market Access and Managed Care Formularies
Agreements with all three major national GPOs provide access across 169 million out of 192 million U.S. covered commercial lives. High-quality formulary coverage (defined as single-step edit or better) increased to approximately 38% (roughly 72 million lives) from 34% in Q1.
A large national health plan added Emrosi to its formulary in early August 2026, which management expects will remove prior-authorization friction and support continued sequential expansion in net average selling price (ASP).
Financial Turnaround and Operating Leverage
Total quarterly revenue grew 23% YoY to $18.5 million while operating expenses increased by less than 1%, demonstrating commercial operating leverage. SG&A declined to $10.9 million from $11.9 million in Q2 FY25 due to prior-year launch expenses. Non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA reached $2.9 million ($3.5 million for 6M FY26), turning positive from a loss of $0.5 million in the prior-year period.
Cash balances ended at $25.6 million as of June 30, 2026, compared to $24.1 million at year-end 2025.
Commercial Footprint Expansion and Eurax Launch
Journey Medical added 5 dermatology sales representatives in late July 2026 to target white space and split dense territories among the 15,000 U.S. dermatologists. Additionally, the company launched Eurax Cream (10% crotamiton) in July following sales training in June. Eurax represents an enhanced antipruritic, nonsteroidal formulation positioned third in detailing behind Emrosi and QBREXZA.
Base Business and Business Development Outlook
QBREXZA generated stable baseline contribution, tracking at an annual run-rate of $25 million to $26 million despite minor Q2 headwinds from insurance deductible resets and payer mix. Prescription volumes reached over 14,500 in June and neared 15,000 in July. On business development, the company is actively negotiating ex-U.S. out-licensing rights for Emrosi across Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Asia, while evaluating selective dermatology in-licensing opportunities.
