Detailed narrative
Operating Framework and FY26 Execution
Malibu Boats delivered strong Q4 and full-year results driven by its MBI Advantage operating framework, which focuses on operational excellence, centralized sourcing, and channel discipline. Net sales in Q4 grew 42.7% YoY to $295.5M (an increase of $88.5M), while full-year revenue rose 13.3% (2.8% on a legacy basis to $830.3M) to $914.6M, beating the high end of previous guidance by roughly $29M.
Consolidated Q4 adjusted EBITDA rose 72.7% YoY to $33.9M, expanding margins by 200 bps to 11.5% compared to 9.5% in the prior-year period. Management emphasized that operating leverage and sourcing savings materialized in legacy brands even before fully realizing synergies from SacStore.
SacStore Acquisition Integration and Domestic Ramp
Following the acquisition closed on March 2, 2026, SacStore delivered $61.2M in Q4 net sales and 180 unit shipments, generating $4.0M in adjusted EBITDA. For the post-close stub period, SacStore generated $84.3M in revenue across 246 units, on a full-year pro forma revenue base of approximately $180M.
Although SacStore's Q4 EBITDA margin dipped below the guided 10%-11% range due to initial domestic ramp costs and input pressures, management is accelerating the start of North American production at its Fort Pierce, Florida facility. The first US-built boat is slated for completion in the first half of FY27, with the facility capable of building 200+ units annually without incremental capital expenditure.
Segment Performance and Average Selling Price Trends
Legacy Q4 net sales grew 13.2% YoY to $234.3M, supported by a 4.5% increase in legacy volume to 1,276 units and an 8.3% increase in legacy net sales per unit to approximately $184,000. Consolidated net sales per unit rose 19.7% to $203,000, bolstered by SacStore's higher price point of $340,000 per unit.
Within legacy segments, Cobalt demonstrated significant momentum with net sales up 31.0% to $70.5M, Saltwater Fishing increased 11.1% to $80.9M, while Malibu towboats grew 3.2% to $82.9M. Unit mix on a legacy basis was 43% Malibu, 31% Cobalt, and 26% Saltwater Fishing.
Channel Health and Dealer Financing Initiatives
Dealer inventories declined over the course of the fiscal year, leaving channel stock in one of the healthiest conditions in recent years with minimal aged inventory. Malibu continues to manage wholesale shipments closely to align with retail demand, anticipating a 1:1 match between wholesale and retail by the end of FY27.
To support payment-sensitive buyers facing elevated interest rates, Malibu expanded its MBI Acceptance financing and extended service tool across 30%-40% of its dealer base, reporting steady application growth even outside promotional financing periods.
Balance Sheet Refinancing and Capital Allocation
Malibu generated $67.5M in cash from operations in FY26 (up ~$11M YoY) and invested $24.7M in capex, yielding free cash flow of $43.2M (~58% of adjusted EBITDA). On July 10, 2026, the company completed a credit facility refinancing, establishing a $100M term loan and a $250M multi-currency revolving facility maturing in July 2031, replacing its prior $350M revolver.
In FY26, Malibu repurchased 1.24M shares for $33.9M at an average price of $27.34. The board authorized a new $70M share repurchase program in June for FY27, backed by net leverage of approximately 1.2x.
