What Tuticorin Alkali does
Tuticorin Alkali Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited manufactures alkali chemicals — Soda Ash (Light) and Sodium Bicarbonate — through the Solvay process at its plant on Harbour Construction Road, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, primarily supplying detergent-based FMCG manufacturers in Southern India. Ammonium Chloride (ACL), used as a fertilizer, is produced as a co-product of the same process and is marketed through group company Greenstar Fertilizers Limited's distribution network. The company also runs captive salt production and a Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plant to support its own operations, and captures CO2 from its boiler flue emissions as a production input. Finished goods are moved via a multi-modal logistics network comprising rail, shipping and road.
