Aurobindo Pharma is a Hyderabad-headquartered pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets generic finished-dosage formulations (oral solids, injectables and specialty products) and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) across therapeutic areas such as CNS, cardiovascular, antibiotics, antiretrovirals, anti-diabetics, gastroenterology, oncology and dermatology. It earns primarily by exporting formulations to the US and Europe, with additional sales to growth markets and ARV tenders, while its API business supplies both its own formulation plants and external customers. The group is also building newer businesses in complex injectables/specialty products (Eugia Pharma), biosimilars (CuraTeQ Biologics) and contract manufacturing of biologics for global pharma partners (TheraNym).
