What HCL Infosystems Limited does

HCL Infosystems Limited has been in the IT business since 1986 and describes itself as an IT System Integration and Solutions company. It historically ran separate Consumer Distribution, Enterprise Distribution, System Integration & Solutions (SI&S), and Learning business units, but the Board decided in January 2020 to gradually scale down the loss-making Distribution businesses, and by FY25 the company reports as a single segment — IT support services. Its remaining operations centre on executing long-term system-integration/support contracts (including legacy power-sector projects and government work such as a UIDAI project extension) and collecting on annual-maintenance and support agreements, some of which run through 2031 via group entity HCL Infotech Limited.
