What Magadh Sugar & Energy Limited does

Magadh Sugar & Energy operates three sugar mills in Bihar (Narkatiaganj, Sidhwalia and Hasanpur) with a combined cane-crushing capacity of 21,500 TCD, producing white crystal sugar and molasses. The molasses is converted into ethanol at two multi-feed distilleries with a combined 155 KLPD capacity, which is supplied to oil marketing companies under the government's ethanol-blending programme. Bagasse generated during crushing fuels co-generation power plants with 38 MW capacity, part of which is exported to the state grid. Cane is sourced from about 90,000 farmers within roughly 125 km of the three plants, and sugar is sold through a wholesale distributor network spanning five Indian states.
