Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (MCF) manufactures nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilisers — Urea, DAP and NP complex grades — at an integrated ammonia-urea plant at Panambur, on the west coast opposite New Mangalore Port. Alongside its core fertiliser range it produces Ammonium Bi-Carbonate (ABC) and Sulphonated Naphthalene Formaldehyde (SNF, an industrial chemical used in construction applications), and it trades imported Muriate of Potash (MOP) to round out its product basket for farmers. Its manufactured and traded fertilisers are sold under the MANGALA brand, chiefly across Karnataka and neighbouring southern and western states, with revenue coming from subsidised urea/P&K sales (under the government's pricing and nutrient-based-subsidy schemes) plus non-subsidised chemical sales such as SNF. The company also runs Agri Advisory Services — farmer and dealer outreach on fertiliser-use efficiency, soil health and crop practices — to support its distribution network.
