What Premier Explosives Limited does
Premier Explosives Limited manufactures commercial explosives — bulk explosives, detonators, cast boosters and detonating fuse — for mining, infrastructure and cement customers in India and export markets, and high-energy defence and space materials — solid propellants, pyrotechnics, chaffs, flares, rocket motors, explosive compositions and ammunition — for India's armed forces and space programme. It also provides operation and maintenance services for solid propellant plants operated by ISRO at its Sriharikota centre and by DRDO's Advanced Systems Laboratory at Jagdalpur. The company holds manufacturing licences from DPIIT and PESO for high-energy products and is positioned as the sole qualified Indian manufacturer of certain electronic countermeasures (chaffs and flares) and the only domestic manufacturer/supplier of certain explosive compositions to the Indian defence establishment.
