Tenneco Clean Air India Limited Q1 FY27

Revenue from Operations 15,448 million +20%EBITDA 2,469 million +8%EBITDA Margin 17.9% Profit After Tax 1,652 million

What went well

  • Revenue from operations increased 20.2% year-over-year to INR15,448 million, outperforming the served addressable market.
  • Value Added Revenue (VAR) grew 18.4% year-on-year to INR13,816 million, demonstrating strong underlying business performance.
  • EBITDA grew 7.9% year-on-year to INR2,469 million, achieving a healthy 17.9% margin on VAR despite external headwinds.

What to watch

  • EBITDA margin was impacted by significant commodity inflation, rupee depreciation, geopolitical supply chain disruptions, and incremental costs of operating as a listed public company.
  • Clean Air business growth of 9.6% was below the overall industry growth (mid to high teens) due to the subtraction of EV market share and non-presence in a leading Japanese OEM.

Guidance record · Q1 FY27

what the last two calls moved 8 tracked 1 delivered 0 missed 7 open
  • EBITDA Margin delivered said Q2 FY26 Promised: We expect EBITDA to be a bit soft, but with increase in the revenue in the coming years, these additional costs will get absorbed... and we come back to the same levels. Q1 FY27: Promise was achieved in FY26. No new updates as the original target is complete. Q1 FY27 margin was 17.9%, impacted by new public company costs and commodity inflation, a separate event from the original promise.
  • Export Revenue Growth on track said Q2 FY26 Promised: exports is going to grow much, much, much faster than our domestic business simply because they're starting from a low base. Q1 FY27: Management noted exports are currently 7% of revenue and face headwinds from US tariffs and macro conditions. However, a new export order for heat shields was won from Tenneco America, keeping the long-term growth story on track.
