What Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited does

Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Limited manufactures sugar and its by-products through an integrated network of sugar, distillery and co-generation units located across Uttar Pradesh's cane belt. Its distilleries convert sugarcane molasses into ethanol, which is sold into the government's ethanol-blending programme, while co-generation units use bagasse (a sugar by-product) to generate power. In FY2024-25 the company shifted more of its ethanol output to the C-heavy molasses route, an operational realignment made in response to government ethanol-policy revisions.
