What Cheviot Company Limited does

Cheviot Company manufactures and exports jute products from two units in West Bengal — a composite jute mill at Budge Budge that processes raw jute into finished yarns and fabrics, and a specialty weaving unit at the Falta Special Economic Zone equipped with imported Swiss Sulzer looms that makes fabrics and geotextiles exclusively for export. Its product range spans conventional jute goods such as sacking bags, hessian fabrics and industrial yarns, alongside value-added items like fine fabrics for shopping bags, food-grade packaging, and technical textiles for flooring and erosion control. Domestic sales are driven largely by Government of India procurement of sacks for foodgrain packaging, while exports reach over 35 countries across North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania.
