What Oriental Hotels Limited does

Oriental Hotels Limited (OHL), established in 1970, owns and operates hotels under the Tata Group's Taj, Vivanta and Gateway brands across six South Indian cities — Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin, Mangalore, Madurai and Coonoor — earning revenue from room accommodation, food & beverage outlets and banquet/event spaces. The company operates under a management alliance with Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) spanning more than five decades, under which IHCL runs day-to-day operations, branding, training and guest-experience standards for OHL's hotels. Beyond its own properties, OHL holds overseas hospitality interests through a wholly owned Hong Kong subsidiary used to route overseas investments, an associate company owning a resort in Sri Lanka, and a joint venture with IHCL that operates resorts in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
