Paradeep Phosphates Limited Q1 FY27
What went well
- Strong financial performance with revenue up 36% YoY to Rs.6,124 crores.
- EBITDA grew 21% YoY to Rs.742 crores, achieving a best-in-class EBITDA per ton of Rs.7,000.
- Sales volume increased 4% YoY to 9.85 lakh tons, nearing a million-ton mark.
What to watch
- Global uncertainties and Middle East crisis led to sharp escalation in raw material prices and supply volatility, particularly for sulphur.
- NPK volume degrowth of 9% in Q1 FY27, attributed to a tactical shift towards DAP due to policy and profitability differences.
What Paradeep Phosphates Limited does
Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) manufactures and sells non-urea fertilizers, principally DAP and a range of NPK grades, along with urea, at three integrated manufacturing sites in Odisha, Goa and Karnataka. It sources phosphoric and sulphuric acid and ammonia through long-term supplier agreements and backward-integrated captive production, and sells through a pan-India distribution network of regional offices, stock points, dealers and retailers to farmers under its own fertilizer brands. Alongside fertilizers, PPL runs an industrial products business making phospho-gypsum, sulphuric acid, ammonia, HFSA, ABC and SNF for industrial customers.
