Phoenix Overseas trades and merchant-exports agricultural commodities and animal feed such as corn, oil cakes, spices, food grains, pulses and soya-based feed, importing lentils and dal in bulk and exporting mainly to Bangladesh and other Asian markets. It also runs a manufacturing unit at Sodhpur, Kolkata that makes bags, belts, wallets and purses from jute, cotton, canvas and leather for buyers in Europe, the UAE and Australia. A third division operates a multipurpose and potato cold storage facility at Malda, West Bengal, for preserving fruits, vegetables, eggs, fish and other perishables, partly powered by an on-site solar plant.
