What SML ISUZU does

SML Isuzu designs, manufactures and sells commercial vehicles — goods carriers (trucks) and passenger carriers (buses) — from its single plant at Asron, Punjab, distributing through a pan-India dealer, service and spare-parts network and exporting to South Asian and African markets. The company operates under a long-standing technical assistance agreement with Isuzu Motors of Japan, while Sumitomo Corporation, Japan is its principal shareholder. Vehicles are also built as special-purpose variants such as ambulances, tippers, reefer vans, water bowsers and troop carriers for institutional and government buyers.
