Detailed Narrative
Strong Q1 FY26 Performance Driven by Growth and Margin Expansion
Entero Healthcare Solutions reported robust Q1 FY26 revenues of ₹1,404 crores, marking a 28% year-on-year growth, significantly outpacing the IPM growth of 9%. On a like-to-like basis, revenue growth stood at 31%, with organic expansion contributing 15%. Gross profit increased by 40% year-on-year to ₹140 crores, with gross margins improving by 83 basis points to 9.9%. EBITDA grew by 66% year-on-year to ₹50 crores, achieving an EBITDA margin of 3.6%, an 82 basis point improvement over the previous year. Profit after tax also saw a substantial increase of 47% year-on-year, reaching ₹30 crores.
Strategic Acquisitions and Operational Efficiency Initiatives
The company continues its inorganic growth strategy, having already announced over ₹400 crores in acquisitions in Q1 FY26, with revenue recognition expected from Q2 onwards. Management confirmed a full-year target of approximately ₹500 crores in recognized inorganic revenue. Alongside acquisitions, Entero is focused on operational excellence, including optimizing working capital. Net working capital days have been reduced from 71 days a year ago to 66 days, with a target to further reduce this to 60 days by the end of FY26 through ERP-driven controls and data science.
Full-Year FY26 Guidance and Margin Outlook
Entero reiterated its full-year FY26 guidance, targeting 30% revenue growth, surpassing 4% EBITDA margins, and generating positive operating cash flows. Despite a slight sequential decline in EBITDA margins from 3.7% to 3.6% in Q1 due to annual salary and wage increases, management expects operating leverage to positively impact margins in subsequent quarters as revenue growth accelerates. The company anticipates Q2 to be seasonally stronger, historically 10-12% higher than Q1, which will help absorb fixed costs.
Evolving Acquisition Strategy and Technology Leverage
Management highlighted an evolved and more aggressive approach to integrating acquisitions, focusing on margin-accretive targets and immediate ERP/technology system integration. The company has invested significantly in its proprietary technology platform, including customized ERP systems and customer-facing apps, and does not foresee substantial future investments. This technology is expected to play a crucial role in achieving operational efficiencies, such as the targeted 10% reduction in working capital days.
Expansion into Higher-Margin Categories and Market Dynamics
Entero is strategically expanding its product range into higher-margin categories like medical devices, diagnostics, surgical consumables, and trade generics. Medical devices currently contribute 4%-5% to revenue, with plans for aggressive growth in this segment, including evaluating acquisition deals in this space. The company also noted its role as a distributor for new weight-loss drugs like Mounjaro and Wegovy, anticipating significant market expansion with the entry of generic Semaglutide in FY26.
Clarification on Servier Partnership and Tax Efficiency
Management addressed a Money Control article regarding the Servier distribution agreement, clarifying that the exclusive marketing and promotion contract was never terminated. The agreement was adjusted to allow Servier's CFAs to also supply to stockists, while Entero retains exclusive marketing and promotion rights. Additionally, the company reported a Q1 tax rate of 17%, with a full-year expectation of 16%-18%, attributed to tax efficiency measures and the utilization of earlier tax losses.
