What Mafatlal Inds. does
Mafatlal Industries Limited (MIL), the textile arm of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, began as a single textile mill in Ahmedabad in 1905 and has since diversified into a product-agnostic enterprise. It designs, curates and distributes uniforms, traditional woven fabrics, home furnishings and technical/hygiene textiles (sanitary napkins, diapers, non-woven medical fabric), while outsourcing most manufacturing to third parties under an asset-light model. Beyond textiles, MIL has diversified into digital infrastructure — installing ICT labs and digital-classroom hardware/software for state education departments under annuity and transactional contracts — and into consumer durables (kits, toys, utensils, furniture) supplied through public welfare schemes. Products reach the market through institutional/B2B contracts with PSUs and government departments and through a pan-India dealer network.
