The Indian Wood Products Co. Ltd (IWP) manufactures and sells Katha, an extract derived from wood, and describes itself as a leader in India's Katha industry. It runs its own works at Izzatnagar (Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh) and Samba (Jammu & Kashmir), and sources additional volumes through contract-manufacturing arrangements at Vadodara (Gujarat, via Bhagyoday Katha Production Pvt Ltd) and Daman (via Nanhemal Agro (India) Ltd). Katha is sold through a sales office in Delhi (Khari Baoli), with the domestic market forming the large majority of sales and exports remaining insignificant. The company also holds an overseas joint venture in Singapore whose step-down subsidiaries are engaged in spice trading and in manufacturing catechins from Gambier.
