GTN Textiles Ltd (formerly GTN Industries Ltd), headquartered in Kochi, Kerala, was engaged in manufacturing cotton yarn, with commercial production having commenced in October 1964. The company discontinued its cotton yarn manufacturing operations with effect from 13 June 2022 on account of unsustainable wages, paucity of working capital and a steep increase in cotton prices, which had lowered capacity utilization and made the operations unviable. It is now proposing to start trading in cotton and cotton yarn, or other business permitted under the objects clause of its Memorandum of Association, including arrangements with group/related entities.
