What Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited does

Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited generates electricity from one hydroelectric plant in Uttarakhand and two coal-based thermal plants in Madhya Pradesh, selling power to state utilities under long-term power purchase agreements (with MPPMCL and UPPCL) and the balance as merchant power through power exchanges (IEX, HPX, PXIL). It mines its own thermal coal through captive coal blocks to fuel its thermal plants, and it also operates a standalone cement grinding unit, though this unit is not currently in production.
