What KIOCL Limited does
KIOCL Limited is a Government of India Schedule 'A' Mini-Ratna enterprise under the Ministry of Steel that manufactures iron ore pellets at a 3.5 MTPA pelletisation plant in Mangaluru, sold to domestic secondary steelmakers, PSUs, private steel producers and international buyers. Alongside its own production, it earns from job-work conversion of iron ore into pellets for NMDC, and from mineral exploration and project-consultancy services as a government-notified exploration agency for critical minerals such as copper, gold, graphite and rare earths. The company is backward-integrating into captive iron ore supply through the leased Devadari Iron Ore Mine and is reviving its dormant Blast Furnace Unit via a new Coke Oven Plant, aiming to diversify into pig iron castings and downstream products such as ductile iron spun pipes.
