What NMDC Steel does

NMDC Steel runs a single, integrated steelmaking plant at Nagarnar in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, covering the full value chain from raw-material handling and sintering through coke ovens, a blast furnace, steel melting shop, thin slab caster and hot strip mill to finished hot-rolled coils, sheets, plates and pig iron. It commenced commercial production of hot-rolled coils in August 2023 and FY2024-25 was its first full year of commercial operations. The plant is sited near NMDC's Bailadila iron-ore reserves and is connected by rail and road to Raipur, Visakhapatnam and other cities, supplying steel to infrastructure, automotive/mobility, energy (oil & gas) and engineering/fabrication customers. It also produces special (value-added) grade steel for automotive and structural applications.
