What NTPC Green does

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) is the umbrella subsidiary through which NTPC Limited executes its renewable energy strategy, developing, building and operating grid-connected solar and wind power projects and selling the generated electricity to state and central power distribution utilities under long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs). It grows both organically, by winning and constructing new solar/wind projects and Ultra-Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks (UMREPP), and inorganically, through acquisitions such as Ayana Renewable Power via its joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited (ONGPL). The company is also diversifying into green hydrogen, battery energy storage (BESS) and green chemicals, including India's largest green hydrogen hub under development at Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh. NGEL operates through a group of subsidiaries and joint ventures, including NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL), Green Valley Renewable Energy Limited, ONGPL and Indian Oil NTPC Green Energy Private Limited.
