What Universal Cables Limited does

Universal Cables Limited manufactures and sells power cables spanning 1.1 kV low-voltage up to 400 kV extra-high-voltage (EHV), along with wires, conductors and cable accessories. It also makes power-quality equipment - capacitors, capacitor banks, harmonic filters and static VAR generators (SVGs) - and executes turnkey EHV cable-laying projects, including underground and HVAC cable installations for utilities in India and overseas. Manufacturing is carried out at two facilities, in Satna (Madhya Pradesh) and Verna (Goa); the Satna EHV cable plant uses India's first Vertical Continuous Vulcanization (VCV) line and is also being equipped to make HVDC cables. The company holds an industry-leading share of India's EHV power cable market and has supplied 400 kV cables to overseas projects, including in Europe.
