Godawari Power And Ispat limited Q1 FY27
What went well
- Healthy revenue growth and improved sales realization in Q1 FY27.
- Q1 volume achieving between 16% to 29% of full year guidance.
- Value-added products showed healthy YoY growth, led by sponge iron, billet, and rolled production.
What to watch
- Profitability softened sequentially due to higher input costs, driven by increased iron ore sourcing from the market and elevated coal prices.
- Iron ore mining volume declined primarily due to space constraints for dumping of overburden and delay in tree-cutting permission.
What Godawari Power And Ispat limited does
Godawari Power & Ispat Limited (GPIL) is an integrated steel and mining company spanning iron ore mining, pellet-making, sponge iron and steel billets through to finished products such as MS rounds, HB wire, galvanized fabricated products and rolled structural products. It owns two captive magnetite iron ore mines (Boria Tibu and Ari Dongri) in Chhattisgarh, giving it backward-integrated raw-material security, and runs captive power generation from solar, waste-heat-recovery, biomass and wind sources. The company also manufactures ferro alloys through its Hira Ferro Alloys and Alok Ferro Alloys units, and holds a stake in Jammu Pigments, a non-ferrous metal recycling associate producing lead, zinc, copper and cadmium. GPIL is diversifying into value-added cold-rolled steel, a new integrated steel plant, and battery energy storage manufacturing beyond its core steel and mining business.
