What Petronet LNG Limited does
Petronet LNG imports, stores and regasifies liquefied natural gas (LNG) at its two terminals — Dahej in Gujarat and Kochi in Kerala — and supplies the regasified gas (R-LNG) to city gas distributors, power plants, fertiliser units and other industrial consumers. It was set up as a joint-venture company by the Government of India, with GAIL, ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Petroleum Corporation as promoters, to build the country's LNG import infrastructure. The company also operates a Small-Scale LNG (SSLNG) dispensing station and a truck-loading facility for last-mile LNG delivery, and is building a petrochemicals complex at Dahej to diversify beyond terminal operations.
