Tata Capital is an RBI upper-layer NBFC and the lending arm of the Tata group, offering a comprehensive suite of 25+ loan products across retail, SME and corporate borrowers through a 100%-owned housing-finance subsidiary (Tata Capital Housing Finance) and other units. It earns primarily by lending and collecting interest, complemented by non-lending businesses in private equity, wealth management and distribution of insurance and credit cards. Retail and SME borrowers make up roughly 86% of its net AUM, which is spread across home loans, loans against property, personal and business loans, vehicle and equipment finance, and cleantech/infrastructure loans.
