Equitas Small Finance Bank is a Chennai-headquartered small finance bank formed in 2016 through the merger of Equitas Micro Finance, Equitas Finance and Equitas Housing Finance. It lends primarily to underbanked small-business owners, microfinance borrowers, and vehicle/housing/gold loan customers through its own banking outlets and a network of business correspondents, while funding this book through retail deposits (savings, current and term deposits) and other borrowings. Alongside lending, it distributes third-party investment, insurance and forex products and offers digital and mobile banking services to its liability customers.
