What Five-Star Business Finance Limited does

Five-Star Business Finance is a non-banking finance company (NBFC) that lends exclusively to small business owners and self-employed individuals with informal, cash-based incomes who are largely shut out of bank lending. Every loan is secured against the borrower's own residential property, and underwriting relies on a proprietary, ecosystem-based assessment of the borrower's cash-flow-generating ability rather than formal income documents or credit-bureau history. It has grown from a single-city lender since incorporation in 1984 into a branch-led business spanning southern and central India. The company also raises debt funding from banks, NBFCs and capital markets to finance its loan book.
