What Piramal Enterp. does

Piramal Enterprises Limited (PEL) is a listed non-banking financial company (NBFC) that originates and services loans through a branch network across India, using a combined 'High Tech + High Touch' model that pairs in-house scorecards and AI/ML-driven underwriting with local branch and DSA-led sourcing and collections. Its retail arm lends to individuals and small businesses (housing loans, loan against property, used car loans, salaried personal loans, business loans and digital loans), while its Wholesale 2.0 arm finances real estate developers and mid-market corporates through corporate & mid-market lending (CMML). It also runs a legacy (discontinued) wholesale loan book being wound down, an alternative investment management arm (Piramal Alternatives), and holds a 50% stake in a life insurance joint venture. PEL is in the final stages of merging with its wholly owned NBFC subsidiary, Piramal Finance Limited, to form a single unified lending entity.
