What Central Bank of India does
Central Bank of India is a public sector commercial bank founded in 1911 as India's first bank owned and managed entirely by Indians. It earns primarily through interest income on loans and advances across retail, agriculture, MSME (together its "RAM" focus segments) and corporate customers, funded by a large deposit franchise, alongside treasury operations and fee income from bancassurance and co-lending tie-ups. The bank runs a pan-India network of branches, ATMs and Business Correspondent outlets, with the majority of its branches located in rural and semi-urban centres, reflecting its historical lead-bank and financial-inclusion role in underserved districts.
