What NTPC Limited does

NTPC Limited is India's largest integrated power utility, generating electricity from coal, gas, hydro, solar and wind and selling it largely to state distribution companies under regulated tariffs. It operates through standalone stations plus numerous subsidiaries and joint ventures (NTPC Green Energy, THDC India, NEEPCO, NTPC Mining, NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam). It is also the third-largest coal mining company in India through its captive mines, and is expanding into nuclear (a JV with NPCIL), pumped storage, battery storage and green hydrogen.
