IDFC FIRST Bank is a pan-India universal bank formed by the December 2018 merger of erstwhile IDFC Bank and Capital First, transforming from a wholesale-only lender into a diversified retail-led franchise. It earns primarily through interest income on a loan book spanning retail (home, vehicle, personal, gold, consumer and education loans), rural finance and microfinance (JLG), MSME/SME lending, and corporate/wholesale banking, alongside deposit-taking (CASA and term deposits), and fee income from credit cards, FASTag, trade finance, treasury and forex solutions, transaction banking/cash management, wealth management and distribution, and NRI banking. Customers are served through a nationwide branch and ATM network, digital channels including a highly rated mobile banking app, and an International Banking Unit (IBU) at GIFT City, Gandhinagar.
