What Satin Creditcare Network Limited does
Satin Creditcare Network is an NBFC-MFI that extends small, unsecured joint-liability-group (JLG) microfinance loans to women borrowers in rural and semi-urban India for income-generation and livelihood needs, earning through interest on this loan portfolio disbursed and collected via its own branch and field-officer network. Beyond core microfinance, the group has diversified into affordable housing finance through Satin Housing Finance, retail MSME and green finance through Satin Finserv (which absorbed the erstwhile business-correspondent arm Taraashna Financial Services), and technology through Satin Technologies, which runs the group's loan-management and HR platforms. Originally incorporated in 1990 as a small-business lender, it later converted into an NBFC-MFI and is now ranked among the largest microfinance institutions in India by loan portfolio.
