City Union Bank is a Tamil Nadu-headquartered private sector bank, incorporated in 1904, that lends primarily to MSME, retail and wholesale trade customers, with short- and long-term credit to the agricultural sector and a growing gold-loan book. It operates a pan-India branch and ATM network that is concentrated in South India, especially Tamil Nadu, and has digitalized its loan origination system to support MSME underwriting. The bank also runs domestic and forex treasury operations alongside its lending business.
